1. Who you are contracting with
Hill Aura curates and lists hill-station stays across South India and arranges bookings between you and the property's owner or operator (the “host”). The stay itself is provided by the host, under their roof and their house rules.
Hill Aura is the booking agent and the point of contact for the whole trip. If something goes wrong on the ground, you talk to us — we do not send you back to the host to fight it out alone.
2. How a booking is made
You send us your dates and your party through the form on a stay's page, or over WhatsApp or the phone. That is an enquiry, not a booking, and nothing is charged for it.
We then check those dates with the property's owner — a telephone call, not a screen — and call you back, usually the same day, with the final price and how to pay. Until you say yes on that call, nothing is committed and you owe nothing.
If the dates turn out not to be free, we say so and offer what is. You are under no obligation to take it.
3. What you pay, and when
No money is taken on this website. There is no payment page, no advance, and we never ask for card details here. Payment is arranged on the call, once you have agreed to go ahead.
The figure the stay's page shows you is the price for the dates and party you entered, and it is what we quote from. If anything about it changes — because the dates moved, or the party did — we tell you what and why before you agree to anything.
- Rates are per night for the whole property and are quoted in Indian Rupees.
- Where a stay charges for a guest beyond the number its rate covers, that charge is shown on the stay's page as you change the party size, and is already inside the total there.
- Where a stay prices children by age, the same applies — the price moves as you say how many children are coming and how old they are.
- Extras that have to be arranged, such as a campfire, are listed on the stay's page and added to the quote on the call, not silently.
4. Your responsibilities as a guest
The person who books is responsible for everyone in the party. Please treat the property as somebody's home, because in most cases it is.
- Carry government photo ID for every adult — hosts are legally required to record it.
- Do not exceed the guest count you booked for. Hosts may refuse entry to undeclared guests.
- Bring pets only to stays listed as pet-friendly, and tell us the size and breed in advance.
- Damage beyond fair wear is settled directly with the host before you leave.
- Loud music after 10pm is not on at any of our properties. These are quiet valleys and the neighbours are close.
5. Things outside anyone's control
Hill roads close. Districts issue advisories. Power and water are less reliable at 2,000 metres than they are in a city, and every property here runs on some combination of generator, spring and tanker.
Where an official closure or advisory covers your dates, we treat it as a free cancellation regardless of notice given. Where the disruption is the ordinary texture of hill travel — a few hours without power, rain, mist — the booking stands.
Hill Aura takes no payment through this website, so there is nothing here for us to hold. Where a payment has been arranged with us directly, our liability is limited to that amount.
6. Listings and content
Every photograph on this site was taken by us at the property. Descriptions, ratings and amenity lists are our own assessment. We do not publish host-supplied galleries.
Photographs, copy and the Hill Aura name are ours. Please do not reuse them commercially without asking; we usually say yes.
7. Changes to these terms
We will update this page when the substance changes and move the date at the top. A change never applies retroactively to a booking that is already confirmed — the terms you booked under are the terms you keep.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts at Madurai, Tamil Nadu have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
